2017 Important Benefits Information

The information included in this guide only applies to the employees represented by the unions and associations that have reached an agreement.
This is a changes only enrollment. If you would like to continue with your current benefits selection for the 2017 plan year, you DO NOT need to enroll, your current benefits will continue and premiums and plan designs changes will automatically be adjusted effective January 1, 2017. Your period of coverage dates are: January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2017.
Spouse/Domestic Partner Surcharge: Effective January 1, 2017, any employee who covers a spouse or domestic partner in an M-DCPS medical plan will be required to disclose the dependent’s access to group healthcare coverage from their employer. Therefore, if you cover your spouse/domestic partner and they have coverage available from their own employer, an annual surcharge of $500 will be automatically applied to your dependent's cost per pay. If your spouse/domestic partner does not have an employer-sponsored medical plan available to them, the surcharge will not be charged to you. However, you must provider proof of availability via the online enrollment process.
